The Journey of Health and Wellbeing

A still from the animated film The Journey of Health and Wellbeing, Aboriginal Health Policy Directorate at the Department of Health Western Australia, in discussion with consultants Tim Muirhead and Danny Ford.

I watched an excellent animated video on YouTube last week, The Journey of Health and Wellbeing, which was launched in conjunction with National Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week. The 10-minute animation helps to promote understanding of Aboriginal people’s experience from colonisation to the present day. It shows how events of the past play out in the present and offers a framework of hope and equity.

The film was produced by the Aboriginal Health Policy Directorate at the Department of Health Western Australia, in discussion with consultants Tim Muirhead and Danny Ford. The production team’s aims were to encourage Western Australians to reflect upon and confront shared histories, and to highlight goals of positive change and growth.
